Keeping People Warm When It’s Wet and Cold
We build waterproof infrared heaters for those miserable spots where cold air and humidity just won’t quit—think poolside decks or outdoor changing areas. Most heaters try to warm up the air around you. But if you’re outside in a breeze, that warm air just blows away. Our units work differently. They use shortwave infrared radiation, which basically means the heat travels at the speed of light. It doesn’t care about the cold air in between; it just hits you directly. It feels like standing in the sun on a crisp autumn day.
How we get that instant heat
If you want someone to feel warm the second they step under the heater, you need power. We use high-wattage quartz elements because they hit their peak temperature almost instantly. No waiting around for the room to warm up. Of course, putting high-voltage electricity near water is a recipe for disaster. That’s why we house everything in an IP-rated chassis. It keeps the guts of the machine dry and safe, while the heat stays concentrated enough to soak right through damp clothes and chilly skin.
The battle against rust and steam
Waterproofing is more than just slapping a rubber seal on a box. If you’re dealing with salt air or heavy steam, cheap materials just rot. We use tempered glass and alloys that refuse to corrode. But here’s the tricky part: the lamp needs to breathe. If we seal the unit too tight, it’ll overheat and burn out. It’s a balancing act. We’ve tuned the housing so it can expand and contract as it heats up, while still keeping the moisture out.
A few things to keep in mind
These are designed to be easy drop-in replacements for standard outdoor setups. You get a ton of heat without needing a massive piece of equipment. But a word of caution: this kind of heat is intense. If you mount them too low, you’re not warming people—you’re scorching them. You’ve got to get the height right based on the wattage to keep it comfortable. And please, don’t cut corners on the grounding. When you’re mixing water and electricity, it’s the one thing you simply can’t skip.
