Most infrared bathroom heaters are built for one thing: speed. They use short-wave radiation to blast heat onto your skin the second you flip the switch. It works, sure. But that blinding glare? It’s a bit much. Especially if you’ve got a baby in the tub. When you’re designing for infants, the light coming off those lamps isn’t just about “performance”—it’s a safety issue. Soft light, real heat We handle the “eye-protection” part by tweaking the light spectrum. Standard halogen tubes throw out a ton of visible light and UV, which can really strain the eyes. To fix that, we use a specific blend of quartz glass and internal coatings. Essentially, we filter out those harsh blue light peaks. You still get all the warmth, but the light stays soft and gentle. Dealing with the steam Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. Between the humidity and the occasional direct splash, things can go south quickly. That’s why we use IP-rated seals and tempered glass. The real trick, though, is managing the heat. The filament gets incredibly hot, but we can’t have the ceiling mount scorching. We use aluminum heat sinks to pull that heat away from the electrical terminals and keep everything stable. The trade-off Here’s the honest truth: when you filter the light to protect your eyes, you lose a tiny bit of that “instant” punch. It’s not quite as aggressive as an unfiltered lamp. To make up for it, we just made the heating element larger. You still feel the warmth immediately, just without the feeling that you’re staring into the sun. One quick tip if you’re installing these: check your wiring. These filtered tubes have specific wattage needs. If you cram too many of them onto one circuit, you’ll be tripping your breakers all winter.
