If you’re putting infrared heaters in a bathroom or a commercial kitchen, you’re fighting a constant battle against moisture. It’s simple: steam loves to settle right on the heating element. When that happens, the metal oxidizes, things rust, and your heater burns out way sooner than it should. Stopping the leaks We don’t just hope for the best with our seals. Most heaters leave the electrical terminals wide open, which is basically an invitation for a short circuit the moment someone starts cleaning or the room gets steamy. We seal those connection points tight so you don’t have to worry about a sudden pop and a dark room. Then there’s the fogging issue. Instead of just slapping on a coating, we changed how the heater actually warms up. By slowing down that initial ramp-up, we stop the condensation from “flash-boiling” on the quartz glass. Why does that matter? Because if that glass gets a sudden temperature shock, it can crack. Once the vacuum is gone, the lamp is toast. The honest trade-off Look, there’s a catch. When you put a heater in a recessed housing with splash guards, you lose a bit of the heat spread. The radiation angle is tighter than it would be with a lamp just hanging in the open air. It’s not a dealbreaker, but you do have to plan for it. You might want to mount them a little lower or just add one more unit to the grid to make sure the floor stays warm. Keeping things running We made these for easy, drop-in replacements. I hate the idea of ripping out an entire ceiling just to fix one part, so we used standardized brackets. If a unit needs service, you just swap it out without having to rewire everything. The only real chore? Keep the vents clear. If dust clogs up those gaps in the housing, the unit can’t breathe. It’ll overheat, the thermal cut-off will trip, and your heat will just shut off. Keep them dusted, and they’ll treat you well.
